Flautist and friend Rakesh Chaurasia announced on Sunday that tabla maestro Zakir Hussain has been hospitalized to the intensive care unit of a San Francisco hospital due to heart-related issues.
According to a source close to Zakir Hussain, the 73-year-old artist from the US had been experiencing blood pressure problems.
“He has been admitted to a hospital in San Francisco for a heart related problem for the last week,” he stated.
