Miami — In the first quarter of Friday night’s 104-97 loss to Oklahoma City , Jimmy Butler seemed to roll his left ankle and departed the game.
According to the club, Butler was declared out due to illness prior to the second quarter beginning. The ankle’s health was not immediately known.
With 4:41 remaining in the first quarter, Butler departed. He finished with two assists and no goals.
Butler, who has been the focus of trade speculations lately, had just finished one of his best games ever, scoring 35 points, pulling down 19 rebounds, dishing out 10 assists, and grabbing four steals in Monday’s defeat to Detroit.
It’s uncertain how much longer Butler will be out due to the ankle or sickness. On Saturday, the Heat travel to Orlando; on Monday, they host Brooklyn; and on December 26, they go back to Orlando.
